As a retired ship master I purchased a property on the Hawkesbury River where I could keep my boat and continue to indulge my love of the sea. When putting my stamp on the house and doing all those little things that make a house a home I felt that a good quality engraved wooden sign depicting one of my ships would add one of the finishing touches and also keep alive some great memories.
It was then that I came across Lance & Signature 3D Signs. My initial dealings were over the internet but then I visited the workshop where it became obvious that I was dealing with a person who had a great deal of love for his work, was a master craftsman and perfectionist. There was no hard sell, just numerous suggestions and a willingness to please. Between us we eventually selected a piece of wood and an appropriate design.
I decided to put my very first ship on one side of the engraving and my last ship on the other. Lance came up with the idea of placing the funnel insignia above each engraving as the shape of wood selected lent itself to this. The result has been outstanding and the sign hangs in a protected and covered area where visitors to the house see my first ship and those lucky enough to stay for a BBQ can also see my last ship. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Signature 3D to any person looking for a quality wood engraving.
